Our book services

We offer a comprehensive range of book-related services designed for individuals, schools, libraries, and community organisations across Quebec and beyond. Whether you need a single volume sourced or an entire collection managed, our team is ready to help.

Book curation

Our curators hand-select titles tailored to your reading goals, educational curriculum, or personal interests. Every recommendation is backed by careful research and a deep love for literature. We work with publishers and independent booksellers to ensure you receive the freshest and most relevant titles available on the market today.

Community lending

We operate lending libraries and pop-up reading stations across Gatineau and the surrounding region. Our community lending programme provides free access to thousands of titles, ensuring that financial barriers never stand between a reader and a great book. Volunteers help manage collections and organise local reading events throughout the year.

Book restoration

Damaged bindings, faded pages, and torn covers deserve expert care. Our restoration specialists use archival-quality materials and traditional techniques to bring treasured volumes back to life. From family heirlooms to rare first editions, we treat every book with the respect it deserves, preserving its story for future generations.

Reading programmes

We design and deliver structured reading programmes for schools, workplaces, and community groups. Each programme includes curated book lists, discussion guides, and facilitation support. Our facilitators are trained educators who know how to spark engaging conversations and foster a lifelong love of reading among participants of all ages.

Why choose Bookcore Foundation?

Founded in 2016, Bookcore Foundation grew from a small neighbourhood book exchange into a recognised non-profit serving thousands of readers each year. Our mission is simple: make books accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for everyone.

We believe that every person deserves the chance to discover new ideas, explore different cultures, and lose themselves in a great story. That conviction drives everything we do, from the way we source titles to the way we engage with our community. Our team includes librarians, educators, restoration artists, and passionate volunteers who share a common goal — putting the right book in the right hands at the right time.

We are proud to partner with local schools, municipal libraries, and cultural organisations throughout Quebec. Together, we have distributed more than 45,000 books since our founding, hosted over 300 reading events, and helped dozens of community groups launch their own lending initiatives. When you work with us, you join a movement that values literacy, curiosity, and connection.

What our community says

Readers, educators, and partner organisations share their experiences with our book services.

"Bookcore Foundation transformed our school library. The curated collection they provided perfectly matched our curriculum, and the students have never been more enthusiastic about reading. We saw a measurable improvement in literacy scores within a single semester."

— Marguerite Delisle, elementary school principal, Gatineau

"I brought in a 120-year-old family Bible with a crumbling spine and water-damaged pages. The restoration team treated it like their own treasure. When I got it back, I could hardly believe it was the same book. Absolutely outstanding craftsmanship."

— Henri Tremblay, Gatineau resident

"The community lending station in our neighbourhood has been a game-changer. My kids visit it every week, and it has sparked a reading habit I never thought possible. Thank you, Bookcore, for making books accessible to everyone."

— Priya Sharma, parent and community advocate
